The end of the year can bring many things: holiday festivities, wrapping up current projects, and new goals and events to look forward to for the following next year. At the end of each year, Pantone releases the new color of the year that sets the tone for future products and designs across many landscapes. They just announced that Living Coral will be the official color of 2019 and we couldn’t be more excited! According to Pantone, this pretty pink is about nature’s nurture in reaction to the increase in social media and other technology’s strong presence in daily life. Living coral is soon to be everywhere as designers are already incorporating it into their 2019 collections. See below for our top ways to style this shade!
Apparel
Even though it is winter, there are still plenty of opportunities to incorporate living coral into your styling before the weather warms up. For the bold, try styling a coral jacket or dress pants with more neutral colors like white or beige for a unique winter look. Those who would rather add subtle hints of the color of the year can opt for a coral scarf, gloves or even booties for a nice pop of color. Try out a few different options and see what suits you best!
Jewelry
One of the easiest ways to incorporate a new hue into your wardrobe is through jewelry. Even if you are styling a plain tee and jeans, adding a coral jewelry piece can easily brighten up an otherwise simple outfit. Try out a coral statement piece like hoop earrings or a cuff that easily will take your outfit to the next level. We also like dainty pieces like these Kendra Scott studs which are perfect for everyday styling.
Home Décor
Live with living coral by adding a new decorative piece to your living area. Even a simple addition such as a new centerpiece, candle or placemat can make a difference in an otherwise neutral room. Many experts say that adding pops of color to your work area can increase mood and productivity, so try checking out a new coral desk lamp, computer mouse, or even writing pens! Sometimes little additions to your working environment can set your entire mood for the day, so don’t be afraid to add the color of the year into your work area.
Phone Case
We love bright colors like living coral, but some may find it to be too bold for their taste (hello, all black attire lovers!). An alternative way to still hop on this trending tone can be styling your phone with a coral case (unless you’re looking to go big and purchase the new coral colored iPhone). Amazon always has great options that have a stylish finish while also adding an extra layer of protection to your phone.
