When opting for a dress that screams “extra”, it’s better to keep your accessories minimal and let the gown shine. Zoë Kravitz (in Dior Haute Couture) kept her jewelry to a minimum while still adding some sparkle with a layered necklace. Check out our pick by The 9th Muse, which has two chains and cute pendants.

Seen at Zimmermann/ Anna sui/ Zadig & Voltaire Florals… For spring? Groundbreaking, we know. This year we are seeing specifically mini floral patterns. With a smaller pattern, the flowers can be present without being overwhelming. Feel free to rock these blooms head to toe without worrying about getting lost in the print.

Seen at Carolina Herrera/ Tibi /Derek Lam Color trend alert: pastels are a go for spring. We saw a sprinkling of these light and lovely colors throughout different shows this week, especially at Victoria Beckham who’s whole collection was practically all pastel. Don’t get ready to say goodbye to millennial pink just yet.

One of this fall's it items is none other than the flat mule! This style shot to popularity last year and is still going strong. Opt for a fur lined pair to wear into the cold winter months as well!

Our second pick is a fresh and clean white sneaker. Add a white hot pop to any outfit with these athleisure kicks. Pair them with your brightest white socks, or no-show ankle socks for a cool look.

To achieve a bronze glow in the summer, I love using Maui Babe Browning Lotion.

After spending a long day at the beach or in the sun, moisturizing with Aloe aftersun gel rejuvenates my skin

I love Lush's face masks because they leave my face feeling smooth and moisturized.

Platform sneakers and sandals are my favs because they dress up any outfit, but won't have your feet screaming in pain from wearing heels.

Espadrilles go great with any summer outfit and are super comfy!

Striped rompers and jumpsuits scream summer. The trend is everywhere! I love how they are light weight which is great for a hot summer day.

Floppy hats are one of my personal favs. They pair well with any bathing suit!

Grab a pair of these oval sunglasses! They match every outfit while complimenting every face type.

Enjoy the last days of summer!

Spring Cleaning: Wardrobe Edition

Spring Cleaning: Wardrobe Edition

Tuesday marked the official first day of spring. Spring cleaning is an essential ritual for any fashionista looking to make room for new summer clothes and generally revamp their wardrobe. Here some ideas on how to clean out your closet.

1. Get rid of items you've neglected

If you're holding onto items you haven't taken proper care of, get rid of them. Shoes that are completely beat up, or jackets with buttons missing you know you'll never sew back on shouldn't take up space in your closet.

2. Hold onto the basics you'll always need

There are certain pieces everyone needs. Solid pairs of blue jeans, perfect button up shirts etc. These are the clothes you'll wear year round and can be matched with trendier pieces seasonally.

3. Say goodbye to overly trendy pieces

With fast fashion so popular these days, it's likely you have a couple items in your closet you've only worn once. It may have been on trend a couple months ago, but it probably looks silly now.

4. Prioritize classics and comfort

One major plus of cleaning out your closet is rediscovering your favorite clothes that have been completely buried. Give the prime real estate in your closet to your favorite pieces that are timeless, comfortable or the epitome of your personal style.

5. The cardinal rule: if you don't love it, lose it

Lastly if you don't love an item anymore, say goodbye to it. Clothes, in our opinion, should make you happy and excited to wear them, so if a piece isn't doing that for you anymore - sayonara.

How to Rock Spring's Trickiest Denim Trend

How to Rock Spring's Trickiest Denim Trend

It's undeniable - vintage jeans are huge this spring. When fitted correctly, the perfect pair of old levi's can become the most versatile and comfortable jeans in your closet. But for anyone who's tried on a pair and been terrified that they look like Tina Fey in that infamous SNL Mom Jeans Sketch - we're here to help. Follow these tips below:

IMG_2353.jpg

1. Forget Your Size

No really forget it because it's useless. When it comes to vintage denim, you'll be shocked at how different each pair fits depending on age. The same exact styles in the same "size" can truly fit and look completely different on. Get ready to try on a lot of pairs because you'll want to see how each forms to your body. Try to look at the waist of the jeans, since this will be the hardest part to fit correctly, and find pairs that you'll be comfortable in. As a general rule of thumb though, older denim runs small.

2. Remember Denim Stretches

You can get a lot of different looks with vintage denim, but if you want a pair that's tight along the waist and butt remember that denim stretches. While you're wearing your jeans, they can stretch out .5-1". You don't want to be uncomfortable when you first put them on, but you don't necessarily need tons of extra space.

3. Keep an Open Mind

This is key. Many people get caught up in wanting a specific style like Levi's 501, or believing vintage jeans only look good on a certain body type. There are so many styles and brands to choose from with vintage denim if you're willing to search. Also equally important to keep your expectations in check - vintage denim will never fit like today's skinny jeans or jeggings unless they're altered.

4. Style Your Pair to Your Tastes

There's so many ways to rock vintage jeans and you can up your denim game by making some easy changes to your pair. You can always cuff your jeans or cut the bottom for a frayed edge (another big spring trend). Add patches to the pocket or take a razor to the knees to make the perfect distressed pair. No matter what we're convinced there's a perfect pair for everyone.
